Faux Marble Decorative Painting - Perth

Faux Marble Perth

Faux marble (marbling) is the sophisticated decorative method of painting a surface to re-create the colourful, lustre appearance of polished marble. The technique requires the hands of highly skilled and experienced artisans to create faux marble with such realism and intricate detail.

Phil Reeves is a world class craftsman who has spent many years perfecting this highly specialised technique.

Renaissance Decorators can transform walls, stairs, columns, floors, doors, frames and objects into impressive marble features and are famous for having worked on many faux marble projects for large residential estates, commercial spaces and worship locations.

Faux Marble in History

This practice of copying marble and stone with paint techniques, dates right back to the Italian renaissance, where painters like Raphael and others used these techniques in huge wall murals.

Decorative painters and artists have used these techniques for hundreds of years.

The Italians, the French, Dutch and English, with some of the finest examples by English decorative artist Thomas Kershaw, are amongst those still in exhibit at the Royal Albert Museum today.

A highly skilled decorative artist can make marble look like the colours are deep inside the stone and not just floating on top in a thin layer of paint.

Every marble has a different pattern and configuration, as well as a wide selection of colours. From rich emerald green of Malachite, to the ruby reds of Rosea Levento and luscious rich blues and gold of Lapis Lazuli at Renaissance.

We have painstakingly spent years learning how to imitate every one.
